Common sense isn't common!

I used to be an avid wrestling fan. I would beg my mother to purchase the wrestling matches on Pay Per View. She never went along with it of course but the previews were amazing. Plus, if you turned to the Pay Per View channel you could get free access for approximately 3 seconds. That meant, if I turned to the Pay Per View channel 20 times in a row, I could get a whole minute of access. That was just enough viewing time for me to see something occur so that on Monday at school I could participate in the conversation with my friends and act as if we had enough money to afford Pay Per View.

Monday at school, people would talk about the wrestling match:

Did you see Ric Flair come in the ring?
How about the Ultimate Warriors face paint?
Shawn Michaels jumped sooooooo high off the top rope!
I loved when Hulk Hogan saved Miss Elizabeth!

Now that I think about it, everyone had one comment that they continuously made. Maybe they were enjoying the 3 seconds of Pay Per view access as well?

In the end, I was so wrapped up in watching a television show, I let it rule a segment of my life. I was young and impressionable.

Adults, in many instances, seem to be as impressionable as the adolescent child who adores wrestling. Many adults watch the news, read the newspaper, or listen to the radio, and take the information that they come across as the truth and nothing but the truth (for example, weapons of mass destruction).

Fox News is an excellent example of this. Don't just take my word for it, watch, listen, and actually learn something!
