I had the privileged of meeting an accomplished artist by the name of Greg Santos. He is a very engaging, well-rounded, well-spoken, gentleman whose passion forced me to look at art as well as artists in a different light(I think I just had a "Stan" moment). After our chance encounter, I went to the Art Museum, First Friday in Old City, and even purchased a Jackson Pollock Portrait(I think I am a Greg Santos groupie! Does this mean I have to start a Myspace group?). The creative juices flowing through my body forced me to come out of retirement and break out my paint by numbers set.
Thus, I Akeem Jamal John David Dixon, declare today, May 7th, National Art Day. (Said with the James Earl Jones voice)
I would like to profile one of our nations up and coming artists.
In general, 69% of our society just doesn't get it. They are the people that make you scratch your head, pondering what the hell they were thinking. The remaining 31% are those that have chosen to represent a rational way of life, while being open to others, and respecting ALL KINDS OF COOL....What Percent Are You?
