I used to have a bad habit of taking things from funny to mean. For example, I was having a bad day once in college and a young lady that I was friendly with, and would joke with on a regular basis, starting ripping me pretty good. (I totally forgot her name but let's call her "Michelle" since that is a generic white woman's name). I took Michelle's verbal jabs for approximately 10 minutes. I finally looked up at her and said, "You look more like a Mike than a Michelle."
Her face immediately turned beat red and she ran down the hall in tears as people laughed at my witty yet horrible comment. I stood there shocked to see that people actually ran away when they were outraged. I thought that only happened on 90210. I then came to my senses, realized that I had taken things too far, called Michelle and offered her an apology.
An apology may be the route that Amy Winehouse should take in regards to this interesting diddy that she crafted about race. The crack pipe makes you do crazy things.
